For a relatively young Nebbiolo this is a fantastic wine. Just enough acid, soft to medium tannins, bright fruit and minerality. Drink now. — 5 years ago
High elevation Zin where the fruit fades to backstage allowing all the other players to share a bow. Lavender, dark berries, leather and cedar on the nose. Damn beautiful wine, will hold up over time. Short finish. — 6 years ago
High ratings for the region. Drinking beautifully now, could lay down another 5-10 years to calm down the sharp edges a bit further. Velveteen, good balance of fruit and acid. Soft tannins. 65% Merlot, 35% Cab Franc. — 5 years ago
Easily one of the most complex malbec wines I have had. Tar, leather, tobacco on the nose. Medium to soft tannins. Fruit starts to show after about 45 minutes decanted. Mouthfeel is velvet. ¡Mendoza pura! — 5 years ago
Could age a bit more but perfectly drinkable in 2019. Medium tannins and all the characteristics of a Grenache-forward Châteauneuf-du-Pape. — 6 years ago
Pretty tight after an hour of opening but soft and subtle flavors of lavender, cassis, and dark berry. Soft-to-medium tannins, decent acid, low key mineral notes, and a long finish. — 5 years ago
Good acid per usual and mellow fruit. Heavy on the cherry. Soft tannins. Has aging potential. — 5 years ago
Also had at Swift & Sons in Chicago. The price delta between a younger CDP Beaucastel and the aged 93 Lazaret was minimal and very worth it. Like lavender rolled in clay and then dried over sage. So damn good. Big boozy sappy tannic tar when opened but 30 mins later it came out to play. — 5 years ago

Tightly wound but will age nicely over the next 25 year or so. Big mineral, lava, fine grain tannins, forest floor and lavender. Balanced acidity. Light fruit but the fruit you get is dark dark bizness. — 5 years ago
