An unusual wine. On first nose it smells strongly of damp cardboard that has sat festering for a few days. There are slight hints of the waxed paper wrappers from a good Brie. The first taste brings tannins and soft cheese with tobacco and raisins. It is very light bodied for a Bordeaux.
This wine needs lots of air and should probably be decanted. Swirling it in the glass for a few minutes softens the flavours and brings a sweetness and acidity to the wine. The undertone of cheese still remains and the flavour is pleasant — 10 years ago
