Racy white grapefruit and white flowers backed by a strong minerality, hints of pine, and a kiss of smoke. Would be a great seafood wine. — 3 months ago
This must be oxidized because it neither smells nor tastes right. Bitter, grapey, and tangy. Such a shame because I was looking forward to this. — 4 months ago
Red cherries, raspberries, dried herbs, wet stone, and hints of ginger and cardamom. Lovely and definitely gives me a new appreciation for Barbera. — 2 months ago
A far cry from the classic passion fruit Kiwi sauv popular a decade ago. Lives up to advertising, claiming a very steely, mineral-driven wine defined by its restraint and finesse. Reminiscent of an Austrian or German sauv blanc with silicate minerals overlaying white grapefruit, hints of smoke, iodine, and toasted coriander. — 2 months ago
Sauvignon blanc fruitier than Loire Valley version but not as rich or tropical as California. Notes of tangerines, gooseberries, orange blossoms, peaches, apricots, and wet sand. Very tasty. One of the better sauv blancs I've had in some time. — 3 months ago
Well structured with a great body for a Pinot Gris. Heady orchard blossom aromas backed by notes of spiced apple pie--stewed apple, buttery crust, and all. Lasting, lovely finish.
Not sure what others on this app are expecting. This is as good as any Oregon Pinot Gris, though perhaps less aromatic than some. — 4 months ago
Lime zest, coriander, tangerine, minerals, hints of honey, petrol, and dairy cream. Wonderful finish that reminds me of peaches and cream, really elevating what's a more subtle nose. — 2 months ago
Chalky minerals, lime, green cardamom, pink peppercorn, cinnamon, bay leaf. As wine warms from fridge temps, floral notes Zapata is known for spring forth, electrifying an already complex bouquet. Charming, seemingly endless finish. One of the few wines I've had that lives up to the hype.
Critics rating this 99-100 points. I'll settle for just below. — 3 months ago
This is Englar's 2020 riserva Baltasius. Honestly, this smells like the grapes were harvested during a forest fire, but reading the vintage notes it was anything but with lots of rain. I like funky, earthy wines, so I appreciate this but others may not. Smokiness leaves the glass over time, giving way to an herbal, woody bouquet overlaying black cherry, dolostone, and eucalyptus.
Pinot should be memorable and this excels at that. Good body on this but still reflects Sudtirol's cool climate. — 4 months ago

Pours a copper-gold color that will immediately make you wonder if this has been oxidized, but apparently that's the style. Like their reds, they seem to turn everything up to 11 in Montefalco.
After decanting in the glass, aromas of toffee, white flowers, almonds, bitter oranges, and minerals. Very funky and interesting, but not something I'd hand innocent wine drinkers. — a month ago
