What makes a perfect wine is rather subjective, but this is the best wine I've ever had. If this isn't a 10 nothing is. So good I shed a couple tears.
Mature Rioja from one of its finest vintages in 100 years. Aromas of dried berries, dried chilies, dried basil, bay leaf, dill, toasted coconut, nutmeg, cardamom, cloves all overlaying undertones of cedar, tanned leather, and sandalwood. Amazing. — a month ago
When cold, aromas reminded me of Meyer lemon cheesecake and brine but as wine warmed a bit, aromas turned to bright lemon, lavender, and gardenia. Baking spices and minerals buried deep. Beautiful wine with a finish to match. As worthy as any fine Chard the world offers. — 2 months ago
Classic example of Pinot Bianco. Spiced pear, raw almonds, fresh raspberries, dolostone, and hints of mango and passion fruit. — 7 days ago
Classic Sauv Blanc pushing toward New Zealand flavors with grapefruit, pineapple, mango, and passion fruit with hints of pine forest. Great QPR wine in a time when everything seems overpriced. — 15 days ago
Definitely a wine that needs to be served closer to room temperature than the fridge and let breathe just a bit. Complex bouquet comes alive as it warms with key lime pie, caramel apples, white flowers, and Chantilly cream underlaid by chalky marl aromas. Awesome, but then again, you expect that in this price range from a premier cru. — 2 months ago
People whining about earthiness and tannins aren't familiar with Rioja or Spain in general, where heavy oaking is the norm.
I found this fruitier than most Riojas, dominated by raspberry notes and vanilla, backed by mild tobacco, mineral, and chocolate notes. — 2 months ago
Banana cream pie aromas that extend to the glass when cool. As the wine warms from fridge temp, develops creme brulee notes others mentioned. Elements of citrus and tropical fruit in there as well. Outstanding, long finish as good as it smells. Critics rating this a 97 consistently. — 10 days ago
Cherry vanilla cola with hints of earth and cloves. Way too jammy for what I like. Still good but 2021 was much better. 2022 needs aging to develop character. — a month ago
Great QPR wine, one of the better Priorats I've had, especially after too many mediocre ones the last few years. Dark chocolate and raspberry on first pour. As it breathes, the llicorella becomes more pronounced and the cocoa aromas get stronger. — 2 months ago
Tobin Spratte
Highly perfumed amalgamation of guava, honeyed peaches, marzipan, and some crazy exotic tea blend of roses, jasmine, lavender Earl Grey, and lapsang souchong. Outstanding. — 7 days ago
