Bogle winemakers have crafted an expressive example of this classic varietal. Richly extracted cherry and cassis arrest the senses, holding captive on both the nose and the palate. Swiftly followed by black pepper and black olive, the supple mouthfeel fills out this full-bodied wine. Spicy American oak heightens the dense fruit, finishing with wisps of ground pepper and stellar tannins.
This well-balanced red wine can be savored with a variety of meat dishes, rich sauces or aged cheeses. Try a rib eye with blue cheese butter. — 11 years ago

Dark Garnet color with aromas of plum, raspberries, white pepper, Indian spices, and blue fruits. In the mouth, flavors of blackberries, dark cherry, cedar, fresh figs, black tea leaf, brown sugar, and warm nutmeg finishing with hints of rich American oak, lush raspberry, and finishing with a delicate pecan pie nuance.
The 2009 harvest presented very nice fruit. This blend is assembled from three different lots from two vineyards in Lodi and one from Paso Robles. Lodi delivered ripe fruit and wonderful aromatics. Petite Sirah from Lodi was also added to this blend to bring complexity, structure, and nice blackberry fruit. Lastly, the Zinfandel from Paso Robles brings fleshy raspberry, earthy notes and structure to the blend.
Pairings
This is a delicious glass of Zin that would pair wonderfully with a wood fired pizza topped with smoked chicken and roasted red peppers topped with fresh arugula. Also try lamb biryani and a side of naan over jasmine rice. — 12 years ago
