Saw this on the list and knew @Benjamin Keator , @David Schoonover & @Martin G Rivard all raved about it, so I was able to get this by the glass to try! Helen Keplinger is the winemaker. Fruit is from Pritchard Hill, specifically Houyi Vineyard.
Coravined. Nose was super black fruit dominant (currant, ripe blackberries), plush, with a more red fruit finish. Tannic, but it still retained a softness to it. Dark espresso and dates on the palate. Probably needs a proper 2+hr decant. Obviously the pedigree is there from the fruit. Think it’s Houyi vineyard. Really fantastic, and that’s my impression from just a glass! — 7 years ago
