Bright crimson in colour. Notes of Camphor and Sandalwood together with tarry red and black fruits. A rich flavoursome and savoury palate - medium to full bodied - a fleeting tobacco note. Firm yet silky tannins. Very polished. One of the best Tempranillos (actually 86% Tempranillo and 14% Garnacha) I’ve ever had - up there with Vega Sicilia. Shows the versatility of the Tempranillo grape and its suitability to the warm climes of Spain. One of the 1001 Wines. 98 points from Jay Miller of the Wine Advocate. — 3 years ago
Drinking in 2025. Incredible structure. Classic Rioja profile. Will continue to get better. Can’t wait to revisit in 6-8 years. Decant - some sediment already — 3 months ago
