Deeper ruby , slightly narrower garnet , ruby rim . Quite richly fruited with a meaty , smoky character also , red plum , dark cherry , blackberry , touch of spice . On the palate this has quite good density and grippy tannin , balanced acidity , darker ripe fruits. Reasonable length . Quite polished and modern in style . Needs time , come back in 5 years and will last well at least a further 10 . — 17 days ago

Bright crimson in colour. Notes of Camphor and Sandalwood together with tarry red and black fruits. A rich flavoursome and savoury palate - medium to full bodied - a fleeting tobacco note. Firm yet silky tannins. Very polished. One of the best Tempranillos (actually 86% Tempranillo and 14% Garnacha) I’ve ever had - up there with Vega Sicilia. Shows the versatility of the Tempranillo grape and its suitability to the warm climes of Spain. One of the 1001 Wines. 98 points from Jay Miller of the Wine Advocate. — 3 years ago
