Blend of Tinta Roriz, Touriga National and Alfrocheiro Pretoria. Dark ruby/black color. Aromas of cooked red fruit, dried herbs and roasted nuts. More black fruit on the palate with notes of dark chocolate, tobacco and baking spices. Medium (smoky) finish and body. Nicely structured with balanced acidity and a hint of chewy tannins. The oak is quite prominent though not overbearing initially, and subsides gradually to commingle with ripe black fruits, clove, anise, dark chocolate, dried herbs, and slight hint of barnyard. Full body. Savory and lush palate but the fruits feels youthful than the nose suggested. Vivid acidity and still solid tannins. Will continue to get better in the next 5 years also.

This bottle serves a reminder that I need to drink more wines from Portugal, one of my favorite countries to visit. — 4 years ago
