— 9 years ago
A very nice and balanced Loire blend with the fruit in the spotlight. Gamay and Cot holding the top of the pavement, enhanced with 10% Pinot Noir and 10% Cab-Franc. The finish is well developed with pepper notes. Wine to drink in its youth over the next 5 years.
— 4 years ago
Enjoyed last night at Del Frisco's Fort Worth. To prevent a 300 dollar bill, we have always either opened a bottle of white and glasses of red or vice versa. We found this little guy in a 325, which probably wasn't bad considering that I think this would have been even MORE locked up from a 750. This wine did take probably 30 minutes before it was able to be enjoyed. Once it did, it was quite velvety on the front, with a good dark raspberry and classic French terroir on the nose and palate. Herbal notes like clove in the middle, all the while a very soft and red fruit backbone. The wine had a great complexity to it, and nice acidity and tannic balance that went perfectly with steak. Medium + bodied. I think my experience would be better in 2-3 years (from 375), probably 5 years from a 750. Nice little dinner wine. — 8 years ago
'10. Maldafrica was inspired by an early '80s visit by COS cofounder to Haut-Brion. A truly different 50-50 Cab-Merlot with the house style that crosses elegance with a good kind of rusticity. Giusto Occhipinti (above) was also a phenomenal host and the best kind of Bon Vivant. Seek him out, as the COS story is as inspirational as this very, very yummy and distinctive wine. Like Gulfi, making Sicily among the hotbeds of cool new wines in Europe. COS winemaker's tasting @noragrey. Kudos to Theo and Oenopole! — 10 years ago
— 4 years ago

Belle finesse, belle longueur. — 2 years ago
