Very nice dry prosecco — 8 years ago
Needs 45 minutes but then classic Clos du Mez style in effect. Big and brawny and full of intense cherry fruit. Black current as well. Great acids and big tannin. Tremendous. Texture gets silkier as it breathes. Drink slowly as it has lots to reveal. — 10 years ago
Took a bit of a gamble given the rep for being very long lived. Opened t-8 hours and decanted 3+ hours. Still quite closed. You can get a sense of the depth of the fruit on the nose but overall it is veiled. The tannins are serious. Would never have guessed Beaujolais- one to let rest for many years. — 7 months ago
— 6 years ago
Just a ridiculous value at <$25 from fass selections. Definitely agree that this is a long-lived wine - this is at its best 4+ hours into decanting, before that the tannins are a bit chewy. But a great example of a Morgon from one of my favorite Beaujolais vintages. Subtle aromatics with great mouthfeel and nice red fruit. Great pairing with a roast Provençal style chicken. Quite seamless after much air and very nice. — 4 years ago
