Loved so much had to re buy which I nvr do. Got over the anger of seeing it at kl after bringing it back from FR. Accidentally prev gave a crappy rating but the wine is stellar, balanced complex and delicious. Actually just bought 3 more btls as KL is fire saling. — 7 years ago
Nice. A tad sweet in the finish. But they only have crappy cut glass glasses. So that may affect the sweetness. Having it with filet mignon and scallops. Cheese gratin potatoes — 8 years ago
Young still but great wine from this ripe year. So much going on, black cherry, black tea, vanilla, sap, spice, smoked meat, hint of anise, violets, I catch skunky barnyard now and again, but it's subtle.
Big deep palate, with smooth tannins are integrated but will resolve and smooth out in years to come still.
Knocking on the door of really great Burgundy.
Good wine for a fairly crappy day that I feel like drinking good wine after and venting about on a wine app, ha. Found out this afternoon my little buddy in the background has lymphoma, not sure how long he's got yet, waiting on more tests, but at max it's not more than a year or two, at worst very soon. But he's lived a good (and very spoiled 😉) indoor life with us for 14 years, and he'll get lots more chin rubs, ear scratching, and love before he goes. 😿💔 — 9 years ago

Spectacular! Perfect finish for the crappy year of 2021! — 4 years ago
I love Merryvale and was happy to find this in my wine fridge as I thought we had drank it all. Needed a bit to open up - probably should have decanted it, but it opened nicely in the glass. Ended up drinking this without food on a movie night and it made the crappy movie I watched much more enjoyable 🙂 — 7 years ago
Attended a tasting a local shop with the winemaker. The weather was crappy but that ended up being lucky as not very many people showed up, so I got to talk to the producer about her wines for over an hour. This is a single vineyard production they don't make in every vintage. Blend is 95% Sangiovese and 5% Mammalo (a local grape I had never heard of). This is a complex and elegant wine with red fruit, violet, vanilla, and dark chocolate notes. Nice lingering finish. Will plan to stop here when I get to Tuscany! — 9 years ago
Bright purple and violet color. Very young. Over oaked from my point of view. Nice pure blueberries and blackberries, liquorice, cedar box and tobacco leaves on the nose. Smooth and round mouthfeel, also nice acidity makes your mouth watering. Solid Syrah but definitely not great. Decanting is a must! Btw sry for the crappy pic lol... 2014 vintage. 15.5% alc but it's very under control. — 9 years ago
A little over the hill but considering it was in the back room of a crappy liquor store...ill take it! — 10 years ago

A longtime guilty pleasure for me that shouldn’t be one. After another holiday season of sampling some really crappy and expensive sparklers, this under $10 Cava is a genuine tonic. Smoky and yeasty, with a gauzy, feather-light mousse. — 6 years ago
Beautiful, smooth, dark, long finish. Life is too short for crappy Cabernet. — 9 years ago
By all accounts should have been given up the ghost 7 years ago. A crappy cork to boot. A perfect demonstration why a wine is a living creature. 12 years young. High alcohol for sure but that seemed to take the back seat . ( although one glass was it for me), Served cold with a cold crab cake it was just good stuff. Plenty of honey, pretty full body, calm oak. I like it. — 9 years ago
Not bad , took a chance at a local wine shop that has crappy wines — 10 years ago
Sure u can beat the heat with crappy stuff; but why do it when wines like this are so crisp and refreshing ( and inexpensive): I'll take this, u can have all the white zin (:() u can drink — 10 years ago

What a shocker in the wine bar at guest house Casa Rossella in the Tunuta di Arceno vineyards. First that we are free to open a pristine looking bottle and second that it is still perfectly drinkable if not well over the hill! Neck fill is full like new wines, cork in good enough shape to come out in one piece using crappy butterfly opener. Nose dominated by acidic berries and thin earthiness. Palate still lively though rather one dimensional but got that old wine feel I like so much, Finnish long though thin. Lost couple of pegs next day when Joe and Chris tasted. Give it a niner for surviving! Not a fancy label either. — 4 years ago
