Just returned from a week in Montepulciano.
While the ancient town’s signature “Nobile” wine isn’t as well regarded as neighbor Montalcino’s famous Brunello, this wine held up big time. Drank like some of the Chianti Classicos I’ve enjoyed from the area some 50 miles north — dry with big flavor, salt, crisp tannins — probably my favorite rosso from our week in Italy. — a month ago
Enjoyable lemonade mineral but like so many Italian whites, was a touch sweet for me — 2 months ago
Complex, balanced, apple, herb, touch of must and citrus zest. Subtle but lingering peppery tannins keep it on the dry side.
Could rate higher but flavors are a touch subtle for me.
An interesting, beautiful wine.

Wanted to like more. Big with some spice. A touch of oak. Nothing bad, just not my style. — a month ago

Second Vino Nobile di Montepulciano I bought for home after a stay there last month. Much softer on the palate than the first, which resembled Chianti Classico. This is closer to a Barolo with much softer tannins. Salt & Pepper cran-apple-cherry.
Will savor this case…. — 23 days ago
Love truffles on pastas. Not so much in my wine.
In fairness, a big musty interesting wine. Couldn’t shake the strong truffle flavor. — 2 months ago
Apple, plum, cran, bit of mint. Minerally.
Lingering tannis. A touch sweet.
Good but something I didn’t love. — 2 months ago

Light. Raspberry? Cherry? Edit: Finished the bottle on night two — I think strawberry.
Lemony acid. Some earth, but not overwhelming. Touch of mint. Dry.
Subtley unique wine. Grew on me. Liked it. Would go again. Maybe with a little chill. — a day ago
