Just returned from a week in Montepulciano.
While the ancient town’s signature “Nobile” wine isn’t as well regarded as neighbor Montalcino’s famous Brunello, this wine held up big time. Drank like some of the Chianti Classicos I’ve enjoyed from the area some 50 miles north — dry with big flavor, salt, crisp tannins — probably my favorite russo from our week in Italy.
