Solid for the price. Still young. Not too distinctive. A little acidic and tart. — 21 days ago
Still a lot of legs on this one in terms of aging potential. Fantastic wine. So balanced. So full. — 14 hours ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of 90 minutes. The 2017 San Valentino pours a slightly hazy, ruby color with medium+ viscosity and light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of tart, red fruit: sour Montmorency cherry, wood varnish, horse blanket, black licorice, old wood, and stony earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and zippy. One of the more wild vintages of San Valentino I’ve ever had and this bottle wasn’t quite as good as the one I had a couple years back. Drink now and enjoy what nature gave to Paolo and Giampiero. — 17 days ago
Such a great Brunello producer. Every wine in the line up is excellent. Even the entry level Troncone, which is one of the great steals in Brunello. This bottle is in its prime. Smooth, complex, red fruit, black fruit, med tannins, long finish. So good! — 9 days ago

Wow this is too young! Opened it, had a glass, then left it on counter for 24 hours. Better, but still needs more air. Cassis, dried meats, cherry, herbs, a bit of wood, more red fruits. It’s all there just need to open it in a decade. — 9 days ago
