Needs air. Definitely decant. In 2019 I rated it a 9.0 and in 2020 I now give it a 9.1. Age has been good to this wine softening and rounding the edges. — 6 years ago
Great Sangiovese! Went wonderfully well with the grilled sheep cheese and Tuscany ham. Complimented the pasta as well. — 8 years ago
See rating from October 2021. Same vintage and same tasting profile. Consistently great. — 3 years ago

Ripe, sweet plums and sour cherries. Medium body with nice juicy acidity. Just a touch of tannin in the background. No wood, great vintage. Lovely. — 8 years ago
Solid, everyday drinker. — 6 months ago
Ruby coloration with some transparency. On the nose, cherry, balsamic, vanilla, leather, crushed rock and earth. On the palate, medium to full body, cherry, currants, anise, espresso bean, leather, balsamic, vanilla and chocolate; a nicely layered palate with a medium to long finish. Tannins are still quite present but balanced. — 3 years ago

Just returned from a week in Montepulciano.
While the ancient town’s signature “Nobile” wine isn’t as well regarded as neighbor Montalcino’s famous Brunello, this wine held up big time. Drank like some of the Chianti Classicos I’ve enjoyed from the area some 50 miles north — dry with big flavor, salt, crisp tannins — probably my favorite russo from our week in Italy. — 2 days ago
