This Virginia gold-medal winner threw me a curveball. Not a traditional build, this had a particularly heavy mid-palate mouth feel coupled with interesting herbal characteristics. The spice note was present but interwoven with unique fruit notes that became an acquired taste after the second glass and a little bit of air. I might give this one another try ;) however, I struggle to find the answer for the answer for its high accolade. — 8 years ago
