In 1972, Alejandro Fernández & wife Esperanza Rivera of Pesquera de Duero initiated the renaissance of Ribera del Duero appellation with area's first modern wire-trained vineyard, their Viña Alta in Pesquera. Their entry level wine is a great value. Deep Ruby with aromas of red fruits and clean spice. Palate shows flavors of red berry fruits, vanilla, spice, and licorice notes, vivid acidity. Firm tannins, medium finish ending with spice and fruit character. — a year ago

@Delectable Wine : This is the Onesta Petite Syrah. I didn’t see it in the database.
Really unique wine from a small producer. For the makeup, it was shockingly smooth. Very dark and inky with blackberry, cassis, underripe blueberries and black pepper. Stiff tannin but it softens towards the finish. Potpourri and lavender too. Very cool. — 6 years ago
