“Ojo Gallo’, Castellano for ‘rooster eye’ (in other words, what the French call ‘oeil de perdrix’), hearkens back to the traditional clarete style of the region. This dark rosé (light red?) is a field blend of very old vines of Tempranillo, Garnacha, Bobal, Monastrell, Viura, Albillo and Malvasia co-fermented in cement and raised for 8 months in used barrels before bottling without added sulfur” — 4 years ago
Light, dry, good mineral And acidity. I bought a few bottles to share! Using bio dynamic practices. — 7 years ago
This flinty white is fantastic. Mineral notes come after the first sip and stay with you for quite awhile. This would be good with almost anything. — 9 years ago
Nothing like the smell of dirty laundry. Drinking really well, dirty and delicious. Soft and precious. — 12 years ago

Muy rico. Importado por Mendez. — 4 years ago
An extremely enjoyable representation of the region with black peppercorns and leather on the palette and some refined French oak on the super long finish. Required 30m to open - good tannic structure that should give this wine the opportunity to age. — 7 years ago

Vibrant purple. Savory nose with roasted meat, BlackBerry and a hint of truffle. Firming tannins with fruit dying on the palate before structure. — 11 years ago
Just delicious. Intense color, intense nose, fully fruited and with pleasantly intense but smooth tannin. Disclaimer: I import this. — 13 years ago
Very nice one with Tapas. — 9 months ago
The fruit layer is airier and more elegant than expected and infinitely preferable to most overripe ones in Ribera del Duero. The oak and the tannin support is substantial and expertly done. This has the brightness and purity missing from most Ribera del Duero’s, as well as the softness and suppleness. — 7 years ago
Fresh and bright indeed. Amazing value here displaying blackberries and black cherries. Feels balanced, a bit plush and needs food to shine even more. Nice find thanks to the recent article in NY Times by Eric Asimov on the new Ribera del Duero. Seek this out and pair with lamb chops or a juicy steak. — 7 years ago
Un espectáculo, gran nariz cuero, fruto seco y ahumados potentes. En boca buena entrada, sedoso y con un final espectacular. — 10 years ago
