The Bedrock Heritage Sonoma Valley Red Blend 2015

The Bedrock Vineyard in Sonoma Valley was originally planted in 1854 by Civil War generals William “Tecumseh” Sherman and “Fightin” Joe Hooker (from left). It would be passed on to George Washington Whitman (Walt Whitman's younger brother) and then to the former American Consul to China Eli T. Shepherd (no pic), before being purchased by Senator George Hearst in 1888. He planted most of the vines that exist today, which were some of the first to be planted on American rootstock. #merica — 8 years ago

Saint George Agiorgitiko 2015

Dark cherry, musky leather shop, hints of cinnamon on the nose. Slight viscosity, bold blackberry and kirsch, hints of charred meats, with spicy tannins gripping nicely on a lingering finish. Would probably go well with tomato-based dishes. Good value. — 4 years ago

Automatic Sea Gin

9.8

OsCo-Oakland Spirits Co "Automatic Sea Gin" is distilled with hand-foraged nori from Mendocino. It doesn't have any juniper in it, so technically it isn't gin, but it is to me. Super fresh, clean flavors. Excellent with a splash of tonic. This is to the Northern California Pacific what the St. George Terroir is to the Nor Cal forests...local California flavors and aromas in a bottle. — 9 years ago

Nervo Ranch Heritage Alexander Valley Red Blend 2013

Greg Ballington
9.0

Last of the two blind Zinfandel blends paired with our turkey burgers and black bean veggie burgers. Deep and dark mix of garnet and ruby red. Mute nose with notes of gunpowder, brambles, and a bit savory. Medium tannins (6.5/10) and medium to medium plus bodied. Dark and rich on the palate with lots of pepper. Some dark berries, graphite and purple floral notes. Long finish. Drink till 2020.

This is the inaugural vintage of this Heritage wine bottling from the Nervo Ranch in Alexander Valley with some vines being planted as far back as 1896. The 2013 Bedrock Wine Co. Nervo Ranch Heritage Wine is made up of an insane amount of varietals, twelve in total. Consisting of Zinfandel, Pinot St. George, Petite Sirah, Alicante Bouschet, Grand Noir, Grenache, Carignane, Trousseau Noir, Cardinal, Burger, Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc. Solid wine with some good layers.
