Deep copper color. Rich aromas of caramel, vanilla bean, incense, cedar, and creme brûlée. Cigar smoke, leather, and pipe tobacco round out the nose. Palate has baked pears, white raisins, dried apricot, and hazelnut. Long finish. — 9 years ago
Is this bottled at cask strength? Delightful blend of flavors but needs a large splash of water to open up and get beyond the harsh alcoholic first impression. — 3 years ago

Pale gold color. Upfront aromas of incense, cedar, green grass, hay, green tea, vanilla bean, coconut, and cereal. Mouthfeel is voluptuous. Some dry tannins in the back palate. Flavors are similar, with apple and creme brûlée hints on the tongue. Long finish! — 9 years ago
The Chichibu Distillery in Hokkaido Japan is boutique in the extreme with just 14 employees and two small copper pot stills. This whisky is a blend of Japanese material blended with Whiskies sourced from around the world including Canada, the USA, Ireland and Scotland. Typical attention to detail has produced a meticulous blend showing more highland grainy flavours than the peaty west coast flavours of Scotland. If I ever return to Niseko for skiing I will make an attempt to visit this wonderful little distillery in Hokkaido. 46% ABV. — 4 years ago
So smooth. A dash of cold water. Only a dash. Almost too smooth. You will polish off that bottle too quick. Touch of smoke. Touch of malt. And a lot of drinkability — 9 years ago
Pale gold color. Intriguing aromas and flavors of geranium, double apple sheesha tobacco, Thai basil, and hop aromas. Fresh varnish, vanilla extract, and Irish spring soap! Medium + mouthfeel, long finish. Different but delightful! — 9 years ago
