Sottimano has made wholesale changes in their vineyard management and it comes through in the wines. I once found them undrinkable but now I buy them up. This is still a little right, so a few years of bottle age will put this in a better spot. If you must open it now, let it sit in the open bottle for a 1-2 hours. Nicely structured with ample acidity and tannin. Nice fruit forward but with plenty of that Nebbiolo red flower and underbrush. — 6 years ago
This is a review for the L'Orange 2015 made with pinot gris, 13.6% ABV: loved this wine - beautiful tangerine color, high acidity and low sugars, extremely pleasant mineralogy throughout, nose of light apricot, elderflower, and rose water, pallette was dominated with bright lemon and notes of kumquat and tangelo, longer tanic finish with bright lemon. Would pair with seafood - scallops, salmon, lobster (bisque). Paid $22 wholesale. — 8 years ago

2016. I’m a strong believer in letting wines settle but I also make my living in wine wholesale. This is delicious now but in a perfect world, I wouldn’t show this for another 6 months at least. More than drinkable now however. — 9 years ago

I challenge anyone to find a white burgundy for $30 wholesale that can touch this. — 9 years ago
Call me a white suburban housewife if you want to but atleast try this wine first and you'll realize that I atleast have the pallate of an elevated suburban housewife. But seriously this is really good Pinot Grigio, a lot of mineral and green notes coming into the nose even when well chilled, and it has just the right acid balance. This fruit is much more elevated (get it?) than the low land Venizia pinot grigios. Need an elevated $16 p/glass PG for your Tribeca lunch crowd? Here it is.
A steal at $13 wholesale. — 4 years ago
2002 drinking like it was only vinted yesterday. 9% but on the drier side for a spaetlese. Awesome for $14 wholesale!, — 8 years ago
Don't be fooled. This is more than perfectly drinkable. It is clean and definitely identifiable as chinon... tasted with wholesale buyers and our tasting group and got 'wows' all round... you'll find this in Paris bistros and only via balanced wine selections in the USA.... really great drink. Because bitcoin doesn’t go up forever, and we can’t drink Cristal every night. Fortunately Louis Roederer produces a dynamite sparkler from their estate in Anderson Valley for a song... wholesale price for a case of Roederer Estate Brut is roughly the retail price for a bottle of Cristal. When you factor in the price, this is stunning. Outrageous complexity meets mouthwatering deliciousness. Loaded with baked and toasted overtones, the apple and lemon somehow manages to make it back to the surface. Refreshing and yet heavily spiced. You should have a bottle of this in your fridge at all times. And this was, deservedly, #25 on Wine Spectator’s Top 100 of 2017. — 9 years ago
