Evolving nicely. It still offera some of the blue/piney resin that I loved when it was young. Well balanced. — 5 years ago
Discarded his first youth this "Junge Schwaben" Riesling from Jochen Beurer shows a lovely mix of yellow stone fruit, grapefruit, nuts, some white flowers and a hint of an exotic component (pineapple, mango) on the nose. On the palate the wine is elegant, yet it has a certain amount of power & tension. Mineral & stone driven finish with a great "acidity kick" on the backend. — 8 years ago
Junge Reben, 6M im Holz, feine Tannine, Kirsche, Richtung Pflaume? Zimt, Würze. — 6 years ago
Jochen Beurers GG out of the Stettener Pulvermächer from 2014 shows youthful at the moment. A difficult vintage with lots of rain & warm temperatures during the harvest. Nevertheless Beurer is very satisfied with the final result, saying that the wine needs time and will have a long life.
At the moment the fruit in the form of white peaches, unripe quince and pear is a bit withdrawn, the mineral component mixed with lots of white flowers & orange zest are upfront.
On the palate the wine is (like the Junge Schwaben) a combination of power & elegance but with a extra bit of tension, vibrant acidity and length. Quite muscular with some edges but everything integrated in the big picture. I'm super curious how this bad boy will age over the next decade. A truely stunning showing & the best white wine out of my home region Württemberg I've ever had. Well done. — 8 years ago
