Loved this very drinkable blend of red goodness! Sold out fast - July 2020 bottle of the month. From one of Coopers Hawk’s somms, the varietals include: “Bold and dark, Cabernet Sauvignon from the Unites States serves as the framework for this blend. This, along with other dark grapes like Petit Verdot, Malbec, Merlot, and Zinfandel comprise 78% of the blend. The French grapes all come from the warm Rhône Valley, which is known for producing rich, spicy wines. A combination of Syrah, Grenache, and Marselan complete the blend at 22%.” — 6 years ago

Dark ruby/ purple in color with a reddish rim.
Strong fruity nose with red and black fruits, light cedar, chocolates, earth, herbs, spices and tobacco leaf.
Full-bodied with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with black currants, black plums, blackberries, cedar, licorice, light vanilla, espresso, earth, chocolates, tobacco leaf, herbs and peppercorn.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and cherries.
This is a delicious Merlot from Lalande de Pomerol. Elegant and nicely balanced. Rich and extracted.
Fruit forward and powerful. The alcohol is nicely integrated already.
Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years. Showing good potential to become a 94 point wine.
Spicy, easy drinking, and good by itself as a sipping wine.
A blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged in new French oak barrels for 12 months. No added Sulphites, and made only in special vintages.
14% alcohol by volume.
92 points.

Domaine Gramenon, Côtes-du-Rhône, Sierra du Sud, 2020, ABV 14.2%. 🇫🇷
When I see the words “Côtes-du-Rhône” on a wine label, my mind initially goes to a Grenache-based blend… 🍇
But not this one! No, this biodynamic beauty is 100% Syrah, from Southern Rhône, France, with a deep ruby hue and boatloads of juicy, vibrant red and black fruit notes such as ripe kirsch, Morello cherry, plum, blueberry, and black raspberry, also violet, licorice, and spicy nutmeg notes. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
On the palate this wine is dry, with medium(+) acidity, a medium body, high alcohol, medium, soft tannins, medium(+) intensity in flavors consistent with the nose. The finish is medium(+).👍🏻👍🏻
This is a lovely, balanced, fruit-forward wine that could be a versatile culinary partner. We’re pairing it tonight with a caprese, arugula and baked chicken salad and it’s delicious. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🍷🍷🍷

Really great every day sparkling for the price. — 9 years ago
Nearly two years since I last open one of these and it has definitely seen better days. It's only seven years old. Initial barnyard funk gives way to a host of aromas—leather, cured meat, musty (Brettanomyces?), teriyaki beef jerky. Loads of black fruit, soy sauce and prunes with smooth tannins. I have one more of this vintage. Drink 'em if you got 'em. I certainly will be. — 11 years ago

One of my tasters at the Chardonnay tasting last Saturday was a Sommelier who has the WSET Level 4 Diploma. He kindly brought along this Left Bank Bordeaux which was given to him to try. La Liberte symbolises breaking free of the 1855 Bordeaux Classification complimenting it with a new scientific one based on soil grading. The first La Liberte is a 2015, a tribute to the most beautiful terroir on the left bank. Black fruits, dense and full bodied with Bordeaux rose petals. Profound palate intensity. From the excellent 2015 vintage with several decades in front of it. Sells for $1200 in Australia so very generous of Pete to bring it along. Even though it is Left Bank the blend is 60% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 20% Petit Verdot. Smooth supple tannins with great length. — 2 years ago
