@Mike R and Rhonda - THANK YOU.
Very similar to the Macauley, just a little more extracted. But I felt this was slightly fuller on the palate, with a little more precision with the varietal expression. Again, another youthful wine with runway ahead of it. Marvelous now tho. — 4 years ago
Very exciting. This wine is an experience of its own!! Wow! — 6 years ago
Coravin pour with 1.5 hrs of air. Hot damn this cab franc is outstanding. This is not a “taste like a cab” cab franc. This has true cab franc characteristics but is elevated by the beckstoffer farming. This is my favorite vintage of this dr crane cab franc and would love to try this against the macauley to kalon cab franc. 97+. — 6 years ago

It’s darker than I remember from the last one I had. Brooding, bold tannins. Lots of chocolate and baking spices on the aromas. Delicious — 10 months ago
Another wonderful gift from @Mike R and his lovely wife Rhonda.
We rarely drink cab franc, so this was a rare treat. Never as dense as a cab, but presents a lithe texture with a silky smooth mouth feel. Lots of minerality combine with soft oak and overripe cherries. Very well done and complemented our meal perfectly. For its age, it’s still a baby! — 4 years ago

New wine- this is the petite sirah. Based on this and other versions in his portfolio (macauley petite and marauder 50/50 petite-syrah blend), I think the varietal really suits his winemaking style. I prefer this over his zins and probably his syrahs. This is also the first 2017 red wine ive had from bottle. Young but i’m guessing 2-3 hrs in the decanter would be great. — 7 years ago
