BOOM! A monster and more suave and complex than I recall - although not showing much sign of age: ripe dark fruit, exotic spice, licorice, bay leaf, coffee - layered and drop dead sexy w/lamb shank — 9 years ago

Concha y Toro

Gran Reserva Serie Riberas Ribera del Tinguiririca Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

Enjoyable weekday wine picked up for $11.99 at Costco. A good tip I use in selecting wine at low price points is to choose an entry level wine of a top producer which in this case is Concha y Toro. Ripe, fruit forward wine with medium plus tannins and acidity. Notes of black currant, plum, warm baking spices (cinnamon) dark cocoa, vanilla bean, roasted green pepper, tobacco leaf. A little edgy and angular, but for the price point I though it was pretty well made and relatively complex.
