On the nose, creamy dark & mid red fruits, fresh purple florals and loamy soils. Palate of lean ripe fruits of; blackberries, dark cherries, plum & raspberries. The tannins are dusty but grippy, raspberry cola, brown dusty soil, crushed rocks, fresh purple florals, leather, bramble, steeped fruit tea, good acidity but not a great finish. Astringent and dry. Wine is really tight at this point which is surprising for a 2012. Elizbeth Tangney is the Winemaker. She worked for L’Aventure in Paso Robles, Booker Vineyards, in St. Emillion and for Bryant before becoming their Winemaker. Aron Potts is their Consultanting Winemaker. He has his own label, Potts. He was previously the Assistant Winemaker at Kongsgaard and was the Winemaker at Château Troplong-Mondot in Bordeaux. Both shown in the photos as is their estate building and one of their vineyards. — 7 years ago
Yes! It’s amazing there aren’t more wines made with Cab Franc as the dominant. Subtle texture and mouthfeel. Not overpowering in any manner. Fantastic. @Aaron Pott does ir again and again and again. Glad to call the Potts friends of mine! — 4 years ago

@Brian Messineo stellar gift from Brian!
Thanks bud! I'm excited to try it. It's my 1st Potts wine. I've seen it but had never tried it. AWESOME 2011 to say the least!!
I pick up dark cherries, spice and a touch of tar-(I think) on the palate. Very, very good and another incredible display of what a great winemaker can do in a tough vintage.
Thanks Brian!!👍👏👏👍 — 8 years ago
On the nose, deep, dark cherries, blackberries, black raspberries, black plum, dry cranberries, some blue fruits with baked strawberries on the edges. Black licorice, cinnamon, vanilla, clove, dark spices, smoke, softer leather, dry stems, dry rich soil and fresh & withering flowers.
The body is much fuller than the 14. The fruits are also darker. The tannins are big, firm but nice rounded. dark cherries, blackberries, black raspberries, black plum, dry cranberries, creamy raspberries come on as it opens open and coats the palate, some blue fruits with baked strawberries on the palate edges. Black licorice, cinnamon, vanilla, clove, caramel, dark & milk chocolate dark spices, mint, expresso roast, tobacco, cedar, smoke, softer leather, dry stems, dry rich soil, tarry notes, crushed rocks and fresh & withering flowers. The structure, tension are more like 13 vintage. The length & balance is beautiful but, will take time to flush out. The finish is big, rich, elegant, glorious and lasts minutes.
Their Winemaker is Aaron Potts. Small production wine, under 500 cases.
Photos of; the several ton Artwork stones that they use as their logo & brand. The seven stone pieces are held together by gravity. Human relaxing art piece on the grounds, painting in the winery and the view from the Estate. — 6 years ago
One of my favorite Cali Cabs. Aaron Potts knows how to make some seriously good juice. Perfectly balanced - I can't imagine this could get much better but it will!

A huge surprise on the upside. All the appropriate Cabernet descriptors plus Rich, concentrated, long and satisfying with notes of mint, cassis and dark chocolate. 50 year old vines from Langhorne Creek contributing to the richness. Turned 10 years old as of a few hours ago. — 9 years ago
