Was expecting this to be DOA, however, we were surprised
Cola and burnt embers on the nose. Visually, it shows slight signs of bricking. Medium weight on the palette, with good tannins and plump acidity. Fruit has given way to cola, cinnamon and sage notes. Nice finish, which is delicately sweet.
This wine is past it's bedtime, but still enjoyable. — 8 years ago
Bright, cherries, sweet spice and lengthy. Brewer Clifton made Pinot from this vnyd back in the day. Very good SRH Pinot. — 11 years ago
This wine is superb. Tasted same vintage almost a year ago and now it seems perfect.
Color is very very dark. Black. Meniscus shows now alc and very thin. Shiny, oily sheen. With plenty of light the edge is eggplant.
The nose is plenty of damp earth, boysenberry, shrub, wet leather and faint white pepper.
The flavors are deep. Unfined & unfiltered. Boysenberry, wild black fruits, a little stem. Velvety sleek with smooth polished texture. Medium body, and oily rolling over the crevas of the palate. Underlined bitterness approaching cocoa. Rich. Tannins are on the background music to fruit. Now was perfect. Opened 11/28/15 — 9 years ago
