Savennières is stealth Chenin. It is ever so much that white gravel people rake patterns in. And just as dry. Until a lemon is squeezed over and a pear and tangerine fall from the trees and a brisk wind wafts through carrying hints of the flower bushes blooming nearby. Oh damn and that raw Marcona almonds. It’s a goddamn garden party in early autumn. Bask. This Savennières looks lightweight but it’s white gold. — 6 years ago
Stunning in so@many ways. Stealth minerality, beautiful round mouth feel, pineapple and tropical fruit. Amazing — 4 years ago
a stealth favorite for the price - funky minerality that evolves — 6 years ago
Nose-on attack of baking chocolate and dark, black cherries. Rich and smooth, bordering opulent but not the least bit cloying. Hides 16% alcohol with stealth. Mouth coating fig, more chocolate and a minute-plus tail. Outrageously awesome. Suspect this will improve with more age. — 2 years ago
M’s bday dinner (12/12). Tasted blind. But wait there’s more! A stealth late evening bottle is pulled. A guest is departing for Germany later this week and wanted another data point for his education before leaving. Medium gold color. Wild, young and exotic nose. Notes of mandarin orange, stones, kiwi, citrus, petrol and apricot. Rich with amazing acidity. Impactful. Long finish. Woke us up. Voilà! — 6 years ago

Kind of a “stealth” wine, with no description of the component varietals, but it’s an easy drinking accessible red wine, medium body, not too much tannin and ready to drink. — 7 months ago
