A good cab sauv with an easy dark red fruit flavor, not too dry — 3 years ago
An initial note of honeycomb which blew off. Not a variety I’ve had much but I must say this is intriguing with an interesting story. Originally from Transylvania, hence the name. Sylvaner had been originally planted as up to a third of the plantings in Alsace but now only 6%. declining in favour of Pinot Noir and Riesling. Ostertag’s Sylvaner vines have an average age of 55 years and have been farmed with biodynamic methods since 1998. The age of the vine brings a complex mineral wine with great depth of flavour which had the reputation of being quite dilute. Fermented naturally in Stainless steel and kept on lees for one year. Andre Ostertag, the owner, says Sylvaner is a cornerstone of Alsatian food and wine culture. I found the wine to be a hypothetical cross between Riesling, Chardonnay and Semillon. I loved it. — 4 years ago
Well, well a very enjoyable Romanian Pinot Noir. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice this was.
Bright in colour and an aroma of strawberries and plums. Gentle flavours with very mild tannins and a slight hint of sweetness giving a raspberry and red fruit taste.
This was a ridiculously cheap £4.99 from Aldi. Noroc! as they say in Romania. — 4 years ago
Belle acidité, barrique heureusement discrète:) — 5 years ago
Smells of tangerine, orange blossom, lime zest, and lemongrass in the bouquet. Notes of grapefruit pith, lemon water, honeysuckle nectar, white peach on the palate with hints of linseed oil and wasabi on a medium-length finish. Fun and interesting white that’s a bit wood-polished sauv blanc meets the old symphony hybrid grape. Should go great with sushi. — 6 years ago

Surprisingly complex & well crafted. Very nice Chardonnay for those who like them oaky like me. — 4 years ago
So tart! Blueberries on the nose, and berry city — cranberry, raspberry, tart strawberry, blueberry — but with a nice minerality to even it out. A favorite. Had for Jason’s birthday weekend. — 4 years ago
High acid, juicy, white peach and apricot aroma, mineral finish. Delicious — 5 years ago
After a much anticipated family trip to Transylvania this August was canceled, the fact this Romanian wine (from Transylvania!) is so (and I really mean, sooo) good, makes the reality of that not-going-to-happen-anytime-soon-family-reunion even tougher. That said, I’d like to take a moment and say HOLY COW... NO WONDER DRACULA LIVES WHERE HE LIVES. These thirsty orange-wine producing vampires are not horsing around. Unfiltered field blend, fermented on the skins, humming with tangerine, lemon, lilies, effervescence and blah blah blah, buy it, serve it chilled. — 6 years ago
Perfect to drink on Halloween night! — 2 years ago
Drinks like a nice, dry Riesling. 12% alcohol. Faint pineapple and flowers, especially on the finish. — 3 years ago
Paired w/vanilla & brown sugar marbled cake, served w/house sweet cream — 4 years ago
First organic macerated white wine purchased inspired by trip to Denmark. Pretty good! — 4 years ago
First of all, how cool is it to be able to try a wine from Transylvania? Beautiful ruby color that gets a bit lighter toward the edge. On the nose, aromas of fruit, clove, and chocolate. On the palate, medium body with fine tannins that are noticeable, but just enough to give the wine structure and balance. Flavors of blue and red fruit, and jam. Overall, a very well-made wine that was very tasty, too! 100% Fetească Neagră. 12/5/21. — 5 years ago
