Strong sherry smell and taste. Slight nutty and chocolate, with mild honey warm finish — 10 years ago
Spicy caramel apple, vanilla and maple sugar on the nose. Tart fruity flavors running through it. Bright, bit of alcohol burn coming through, but super complex and long. — a year ago
Smooth and tasty. — 4 years ago
Was an excellent wine with a special flavour. Possibly because of the year but definitely a. Fruity fun wine to consider in the future. — 10 years ago

Whisky !
- Kavalan Solist Vinho barrique. 59.4%
Single Malt. Taïwan.
Matured in White and Red wine oak.
Distilled in mars 2010. Bottled july 2015.
212 bottles in the world.
Single Cask. Cask Strenght.
Taïwan is an isle south Est of China.
Kavalan is in the North. Hot and wet climate.
The Angels'share is more important : 10% each year. Scotland : 1% each year.
And the maturation is faster. For exemple, a 7 years old Kavalan Whisky will look like to a 18+ years old Scotch. Impressive.
Best Single malt and best of the best for the 2015 world whiskys ?
The fact ???
Lets try it !!
The color is impressive. Dark brown. Beautiful.
Just 2 cl in the glass and ... explosion !
Old cedar, pine wood, nuts, fresh vanilla, passion fruit, mango and coconut, red fruits to !!. Original.
Love it !
59.4% alcool.... strong, but fatty, so easy to drink. Red fruits, cherry, pine wood, exotics fruits : mango and passion fruit.
Nice balance, you can feel a little sweet sensation.
The finish : cassis, dark chocolate and leather.
Long, very long.
An impressive whisky with high density and good complexity. Best whisky in the world??? That's totaly subjective. For me ? No, but one of the best i ever tried !
Now, in France the price is around 250 euros. Dont know for other country.
☆ Kavalan Solist Vinho barrique. 59.4%
Cask Strength. Single Cask
On s'y perd !

A chance to compare again with proper notes. Aromas of maple syrup and honey. The Sherry sweetness comes through, with a toasty, nutty character on top of the grape. Very nice. — 2 years ago
Delicious kind of vanilla and sweet oak character — 6 years ago
Roast goose was amazing. — 8 years ago
Nose of fermented grains, apple cider, and some aldehyde. Taste of some brown sugar, toffee notes, especially after stirring the sip with tongue, tea and baked apple flavor, hotness from alcohol, hint of smoky oaks, milk chocolate, dried figs, and mango. Aftertaste is some warmth in the throat, dried mango, a hint of zest, and a bit peaty. The flavors are bold but well structured at the same time. You won't be disappointed as she offers a mix of different flavors compared with bourbon and most of the Irish whisky. — 9 years ago
Brown Sherry in color. Syrupy aromas and flavors of creme brûlée, leather hides, hazelnut, toasted almonds, vanilla, licorice, and dried red fruits. Alcohol heat is balanced, finish is well integrated. — 10 years ago

Interesting single malt from Taiwan. Sweet vanilla aroma. Cedar, nuts, caramel, Szechuan pepper, hot cinnamon. Not super smooth, but layered and very spiced. Leaves a mouth tingle. I’m not much of a whisky guy, but good to try. — 10 months ago
