Surprisingly crisp and refreshing. Some pear on the nose, mineral, and oak finish. #dryfarmwines — 9 years ago
— 11 years ago

Vipava appears to be both the winery org name and valley where the grapes are grown. Assuming this is grown in two sub-regions; Vipavska Dolina (low?)and Vipavska Tal (high?). Estate bottled, hand picked.
Pale-medium yellow. Nose of lilac, Paperwhites, white peach nectar and other aromatic pit fruits. Good as an aperitif as it is bracingly dry. Lead into pasta with Marcel Hazan's tomato/onion/butter sauce. — 4 years ago
— 6 years ago

Impressive label although it does kinda resemble a tomato. Maybe it’s subliminal hinting that you should pair the wine with tomato dishes. Nice translucent red color. Aromas are floral and classy. Hint of roses, rose-hip tea and Red Zinger tea. Maybe warm rough cut wood too. Flavors are tart, savory (olives) and juicy. Plenty of raspberry/cherry, but something saline in there too. This is classic I Tal Yan red wine. Interesting stuff. Would pair with cheese and tomato foods well. — 2 years ago
