This is The Soldiers of Fortune Merlot from Monterey, Sonoma, and San Luis Obisbo. Color is dark and stormy. Deep purple. Aromas are wine-y with some vanilla. Plenty of berry pie. Black, blue berry pie. Flavors are more ripe black and blue skinned fruits and a hint of cut cedar. Or maybe Christmas tree. Has a nice plummy side too. Smooth. Easy drinking. But not overly fruit bombed. It’s decent Merlot. The Soldiers of Fortune Cab might be a bit more interesting, but this ain’t half bad. — 8 days ago
Dry farmed! Color of blood. Or a bruised plum. Smells like Spanish red. Wood shavings. Berry-cherry pies. Menthol. Flavors are dense and on point. Plenty of woodsy stuff in the mouth too. Just a little fennel. Black cherries. Tannins are tongue drying and pleasant. Hint of licking a sharpened pencil tip perhaps. This is classic Rioja with all the trimmings. — 14 days ago
Meh label design. It’s like basic man. Color of the ruby in a ring worn by a villain. Aroma has a hint of fancy smelling sawdust to go with the berry-cherry jams. Flavors are ripe and fruit forward. There is a nice tannic bite on the finish. Silky and easy drinking. Has a hint of caramel with the very ripe dark berry sauce. This is a CA cab with a decent balance. Oak flavors, but not overselling it. It’s just not very complex or funky. Straight ahead and basic like that label… — 4 days ago
This is $4 twist-off from Gross Out. And it’s pretty good. All organic growing. Decent deep ruby/garnet color. Smells like berry based fruit leather and olives. Maybe some wet rock. Flavors are dry. Very dry. Thinner. But it’s got something fresh and interesting in there. Plenty of mint and cassis too. This is very good value as they say. I’d like to try more organic stuff from this producer. I’m impressed. Spanish wine is just such a great value. — 11 days ago
Cute label. Good name. Color is light, but ruby red. Smell is toast with berry-grape jam. Hint of licorice stuff. Flavors are balanced and complex. Licorice and smoke. Flavors are awesome. Interesting and exciting. Bite with perfect berry compote. Cassis in there. Elegant and fresh. Nice stuff. Muy Bueno. — 16 days ago
This is a Lisboa red blend. Tinta Miúdal. Trincadeiral. Castelão. Syrah. Label is meh. Color is nice. Ruby and garnet. Hint of smoke on the nose. Smoked cherry-berry sauce. Few rocks. The wine is ok. Thick. Lots of oak in the mix. Has hints of spices. Plenty of big cherry fruit. A hearty dose of tannins. It goes well with spicy burrito. Drifts towards a New World style. Not too bad, just lacks elegance. — 6 days ago
This label say Sonoma. Maybe it’s Carneros Sonoma side… funny design of a plain Jane otherwise label. Pretty color. Hint of red rust on the edge of the ruby red elixir. Aroma is red berries, spice box and fancy soap. The flavors are pretty classic and elegant. Dusty Cherry. Pretty complex. Ends with a lot of linger. Bright and vibrant flavors. This is a great pick up from Grocery Outlet. Representation of Sonoma is grand. — 10 days ago
Funny label. Aromas are epic. Orange and berry sauce. Hint of apple pumice. A lot of rosehip too. Flavors are lovely and true to type. Citrus meets red zinger. Flowers, stone fruits, and Rainer cherries are in spades. — 16 days ago
Very simple label. Color is lighter for a Syrah. Cranberry sauce. Aroma is tight with plenty of herbal and vegetative stuff. Flavors are very tart, very dry and underripe berry vibed. Sorta a Natural Wine style.
Opens up after a bit. Aroma has more berries in the sun and hint of roasted meats. — 16 days ago

Cool label. Nice white color. Shimmery. Aroma is lovely with a citrus peel and flower nose. Hint of herbs too. Flavors are excellent. Fresh fennel and a hint of smoke. Linden tea? Body is good too, mouth-filling with lots of acid bite. Hints of artemisia too. This is a very nice white. Strange, interesting and vibrant. — 2 days ago
