@delectable this is the Centgrafenberg “J” - what a nose. Complex secondary aromas of earth, leather, smoke and game. Under that is ripe mid season cherries. Palate is ripe and super refined wirh lovely purity and freshness and suave ripe tannins. In a great place of total harmony. Will improve wirh air i‘m sure but this is one of the few Walter Pinots that is almost mature or starting to. — 5 years ago
Last bottle from my trip to the Mosel a couple of years back. This wine from a bend in the river near Neef, fragrant with the smell of fruit tree flowers and tastes of apricot and grapefruit, delightful. Tempted to go back to buy some more. — 8 years ago
Big 18 sunshine nose. Violets, mulch and spice. Some nice sweet wood as well. But just enormous spice. Very Fruh. Palate is so elegant and full of violets and wonderful inner mouth florals. Really nice opulent texture and just floats. Let’s see what air does. After air this gets more linear and gains edge and energy. Really different now than when it was p and p. — 2 months ago
Very exiting nose. Confectionery sugars, greens that are sweet, fiddlehead ferns, sugar snap peas, mineral and airy. Even a hint of saline. Palate is elegant, linear and focused. Juicy and clean. A bit simple. Nice but the J bottling of this is really a big step up. Nice length. Good. — 4 years ago

Love this Riesling from Briedel. — 10 years ago
Sometimes an older bottle just hits and wow tbh is killing it? Nose is dusty bookshelves, old books, glorious spice and some faint cherry but the story is the palate. Wow. Just perfect. Sensual texture, hit of opulence, great acids and freshness, barely sweet fruit and killer length. What one wants out of an aged wine. Fantastical. — 4 months ago

Anthony took us to the tasting room in their Cellar to taste the Hamilton Russell line of wines.
This is why you come down to this region, the Pinot Noirs. They are Burgundian in style. Nice red and blue fruits with very gentle wood use and about 13% ABV. Quite enjoyable.
Photos of; the Hamilton Russell Vineyard, a bronze statue of Anthony’s father wearing Anthony’s hat. It was his father who founded Russell Hamilton back in 1975. He was also CEO of one of the largest US advertising agencies, JWT or J. Walter Thompson. Our tasting setup in the cellar and a long view of their property and house on the hilltop. — 6 years ago
