Violet Beauregard Single Site Langhorne Creek Malbec

Amazing nose of blueberries yet savoury on the palate. Trophy at the Sydney Royal and on this showing deserves it. A delightful little mid week drink giving more interest than I was expecting. One of the better Aussie Malbecs ever. Impressive. — 8 years ago

Langhorne Creek Verdelho

Nearly 10 years on and this little beauty is showing some delicious tropical fruit and honeyed characteristics despite weathering 2 house moves and a month in the car. — 10 years ago

Chocolate Factory McLaren Vale Shiraz 2015

Slightly bigger, more fruit-forward Shiraz here. As the name suggests there is a chocolate note. — 9 years ago

Z-Force Shiraz

Fantastic drop and certainly a lot more fluid on the palette than the lake doctor Shiraz. Best enjoyed with a rich meat. Requires decanting for a day to expose the legs and full flavour. — 10 years ago

Doctoressa di Lago Pinot Grigio

A very interesting Grigio. Definite Gris oiliness but some nice acid to carry it through. Good apples and pears on the nose. Worked well with a quiche Lorraine and rocket salad. — 12 years ago

Acid increased as wine warms up. Once room temp, Gris drops away and the acid is dominant... Good wine to try to demonstrate the difference between Gris ( when cold) and Grigio ( when warm)...
