The fruit for this wine comes from high elevation vineyards in the Howell Mountain Appellation, where soils are volcanic in origin. Hand harvested, the fruit was subjected to a three-tiered sorting process, including an optical sorter. The wine was aged in French oak barrels, 50% of which were new, for 21 months. Our 2012 vintage is composed of 99% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Merlot. 518 cases were produced. — 10 years ago
