Still earthy on the nose and deep red-purple visually. After a short but vigorous decanting the tannic structure persisted to support dark fruit flavors on the palette. This wine still has many years of cellaring possible! — a month ago
Wonderfully rich Garnacha that was tasted alongside of the sister wines from Priorat and Rioja. — 2 months ago
Deep amber color in a 375ml format. Non-descript on the nose with a hint of neutral oak. Clean and clear in the class with rich honey and a finish of candied orange peels. Some soft floral notes that I cannot fully discern. An amazingly good pairing with Asian inspired honey beef stir fry — 19 days ago
Rich but clean, good minerality with a hint of white flowers - more akin to a meursault than a Montrachet. This was my first Coche and I wasn’t disappointed from the high expectations I had. Glad that I have several more bottles in the cellar!! — a month ago
Intense red fruit and color for a wine that was immediately approachable. Structured and balanced for cellaring. Delicious with lunch! — 2 months ago
Beautiful wine - one that has improved with age! Deep and rich color with a bouquet of cedar in the glass. Dark and plentiful fruit, integrated albeit present tannins, and a long finish. This is best Estournel that I have sampled! — 23 days ago
Deep golden in color with more body and intensity than a Chardonnay. Asian apple and some apricot on the palate. Neutral oak provides umami as well. This wine is in it’s ideal drinking window! — a month ago
A wonderful expression of Garnacha from the master! Deep red in color with red fruit throughout. — 2 months ago
A Garnacha blend that is well structured and balanced with soft tannins. Rich red fruit and color are evident in this wine that frankly would be very easy to make one’s daily drinker! — 2 months ago

Always fun to explore an indigenous varietal from Spain - especially when Alvaro Palacios is involved. I found this Mencia wine to be medium bodied with good acidity and structured tannins that were present in this young wine but not obnoxiously so. The fruit is darker dried red fruit that proved to be a good compliment with grilled shishito peppers. It was so nice to dive into a new aspect of Spain’s wine history. — a day ago
