Pagliaro Montefalco Sagrantino 2018

Delectable Wine
9.5

The 2018 Montefalco Sagrantino Pagliaro is coy in the glass, slowly awakening with a mentholated blend of crushed blackberries, sage and flowery underbrush. It flows across the palate with ease, silky and round with bright red and black fruits underscored by salty mineral tones and exotic spice. This leaves a balsamic flourish through the finale, along with crunchy tannins that create a push and pull of youthful tension as hints of dried cherries slowly taper off. While stepping lightly, the 2018 is nearly sultry in style, tempting the imagination with what further maturity will bring. (Eric Guido, Vinous, October 2023)

The 2019 Lapideus is honeyed with dried peaches and apricots, complemented by spiced blood orange. Marchesi Antinori

Castello della Sala Cervaro della Sala Umbria Chardonnay Grechetto 2021

Delectable Wine
9.5

The 2021 Cervaro della Sala comes to life in the glass with crushed stones, oyster shells and damp earth evolving into lemon oil, green apple and hints of chamomile. This is pure elegance, with silky, verging on creamy textures and brilliant acidity. A salty staining of minerality adds tremendous depth to baked apple and spice notes. It finishes crunchy and long with a citrus tinge as touches of custard and nectarine slowly fade. This is a dramatic Cervaro della Sala that possesses amazing balance. It will be fascinating to watch it mature over the coming years. (Eric Guido, Vinous, October 2023)

Bussoletti Leonardo

'Colle Murello' Bianco Trebbiano 2022

Delectable Wine
9.1

The 2022 Bianco Colle Morello, a varietal Trebbiano Spoletino, lifts from the glass with a spicy blend of shaved lemon rinds, sage and nectarines. It’s silky-smooth yet quickly builds with mineral tension as brisk acidity adds a juicy thrust to its tart orchard fruits. This finishes savory, nearly salty and long with a green apple crunch that keeps me looking back to the glass for more. (Eric Guido, Vinous, October 2023)

Marchesi Antinori

Castello della Sala Bramìto Umbria Chardonnay 2022

Delectable Wine
9.2

Rich and savory in the glass, the 2022 Bramìto della Sala slowly opens to show hints of young peach and apricot, crushed rocks and hints of cardamon. This is silky yet lifted in feel with ripe white pit fruits complemented by hints of vanilla bean and lemon custard. The 2022 finishes with admirable length and potency, as a bump of residual acidity maintains a lovely freshness. Bramìto della Sala remains one of the best values in Italian Chardonnay.
