F&#K YES. Ultra stoked to be drinking some older wine, especially when it’s a 40+ year old Beerenauslese Riesling, which has been impeccably stored by my buddy Pat since he bought it in the 70’s. Not sure if it was an expensive bottle back then, but it’s damn glorious today. On the nose, there’s a ton of honey, golden raisin and tiny little accent of balsamic (in a good way). Having aged this long, all the sugars and acid have melded and broken down into each other, and it’s not too sweet, but shows good fruit character. There’s some nuttiness but not oxidized really. I get ultra excited about old wine, and this was awesome.

It makes me want to lay down some of my own wine, but of course I always drink it too soon! #oldwine #beerenauslese #1975 #delicious #dontevencareitsdessertwine #PatO'Connor — 9 years ago
