Burgundy and Mario Kart with #snowzilla ...a solid pairing. Burg earth/funk, sweet black cherry, black tea, tarragon?, green stems. Honestly the first time I've noticed steminess in a bottle of this wine. — 9 years ago
Love these wines...great as usual. Slate, lemon, sweet florals, honeysuckle?, great hint of butterscotch from the age, but not too much, tiny hint of fennel? Much the same on the palate...just beginning to hit maturity, and the rigid spine of acidity is starting to soften. Great wine, nice way to end a day of shoveling out from #snowzilla — 9 years ago
Next victim of the blizzard! Not bad, big dark fruit still, and almost like a clean linen kind of smelI, and actually reminds me a little of cab sauv...i want more meaty salinity though in my syrah though! Slightly raisin-y on the palate, and a little hot, but very enjoyable with a steak seared on the BGE in the middle of a snowstorm...#Snowzilla — 9 years ago

Funky yeasty chinon for the next #snowzilla wine...pretty as always, a little rough around the edges but time will smooth those. Still pretty fruit forward on the palate, herbs, funk. Leaves me wanting a bit more, will save some for tomorrow and see what it does.
Next day: I don't think a whole lot has changed...this is wound really tight right now! — 9 years ago
Starting the blizzard with bubbles...its OK, and has some age on it, 5 or 6 years in bottle I think. Very pretty nose of lemon, bread, and honeysuckle, but the palate isn't there...alcohol really shows right now, but its still pretty cold, will let it warms up and see what happens. Follow up: better as its warmed up, but still out of balance toward alcohol on the palate. #Snowzilla — 9 years ago
