Mendoza Syrah

A Syrah from Mendoza...I had my doubts, but we were tasting some great wines at this winery, Malbec and Cab Franc. It is amazing what some of the wineries in Mendoza are doing with Cab Franc. Back to the Syrah, we didn’t taste it but they urged me to get it as they thought I be surprised. And I was! Given the heat and the stress in Mendoza I thought it be drinking more like a Shiraz. It didn’t. It was vibrant, full bodied, spicy and potent tannins that evolved in your mouth giving it great complexity. Dark unripe blackberry infused with pipe tobacco.
