A delightfully mature nose with dried and fresh red fruit, loamy soil, allspice and hint of creamy vanilla. Palate is lively but tannins are gaining the upper hand. This most have been a monster in its youth. Cassis, cranberry, red cherry fruit mingle with lots of spice. Finish is had fresh and dried red fruit notes. It is missing just a bit of depth. This was a dynamite suggestion from the sommelier and a lovely match to the amazing interpretation of suckling pig.
