Thought it was a blend then thought it was from Cali then thought it was from Sonoma then thought it was a single varietal, and then thought it was a cab sauv....not really. Tremendous display of restraint and composure. Very blue though.

Been disappointed in Pax's more recent releases, by very much enjoyed this one. 14.7 ABV. Decanted 2 hrs ahead - big alkies nose to it, but not when you drink it, thankfully. Deep strawberry and blueberry, hint of dirt and smoke, low tannin. Very much enjoyed.

Deep ruby color. Expressive nose of black cherry, plum, tobacco, and licorice. Rich and textured on the palate but with nice balance and length. Although I've enjoyed many of Pax Mahle's Wind Gap wines, I really love what he's doing with Cab and this '09 is drinking very well right now.
