Alain Graillot
St. Joseph Syrah
I had never had Graillot's St Joseph before. Only the Crozes. This is in pretty rarified company in St Joseph. Tons of depth and texture. Acid in front of tannins with some layered dark berry fruit. Fantastic.

Ripe cherry, mushroom, graphite, gravel, and shale. Smelled sweet, but dry. Unfortunately it is also a bit pn the sour side. Opened 1 hour.

Feb 8th, 2019Good fruit to start but backed with a big streak of acidity that keeps it very lively. First bottle and it had a bit of funk that blew off quickly. Maybe a few more years for the smokiness to set in. Paired well roast pork and lentils.
