Alain Jaume & Fils
Domaine du Clos de Sixte Lirac Red Rhone Blend
Lirac, Southern Rhône, Rhône, France
Am I nuts to like this as much (if not more) than Jaume’s Châteauneuf? Taut, mineral-tinged, savory Grenache of the highest order. I’d rate it higher, but it finishes a bit hot and short, like most ‘16 southern Rhône.

Big and rich (15% ABV), but pure deep and complex old vine Grenache in this lovely Lirac rouge.

Great QPR for Grenache-driven blend, easy to drink right away with cherry, earth, and tannins.

Blackberry bramble, dark cherry, summer pines, herbs, and charred meats on the nose. Dark fruit with hints of coffee and cocoa, well polished tannins that lingers nicely. Great Rhône showing
