Wine 3 of 4 of the wine world tour. This Rhône style red blend is composed of Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, and perhaps a dash of Mourvèdre. Established in the northern part of Châteauneuf du Pape, the Jaume family has been dedicated to the art of wine growing since 1826. Cinsault is a grape not routinely cultivated in the Americas, however, it's heat tolerance to the southern French climate finds it often blended with grapes such as Grenache and Carignan to add softness and bouquet. Paired with a squash-brussels sprout béchamel casserole, but it was a bit too chewy for my tastes. ~$16 | #totalwine #cotesdurhone #frenchwine

On the eyes: Slightly cloudy, deep dull brick red, med stain, med+ tears. No gas - floc present.

On the nose: Blackberry pie with hints of cherry, violet, and oak. Med+ alcohol.

On the tongue: Med+ acid, med+ tannin, med+ alcohol. A bit assertive in the tongue. Cherry, black currant, a bit of floral character, and toasty oak. Chewy finish, med body. This one may be past it's prime.
