Turriga Isola dei Nuraghi Red Blend

Wow, this blew me away tonight! Cannonau (Grenache blend ) from Sardinia. Rose petal and mushroom on the nose, cherry, back tea, leather, plum and a hint of chocolate on the palate. Hey Delectable Community, you've really got to try this if you can find it!

Vintage 2013 / made from #cannonau #carignano #bovale #malvasianegro #sangiovese 18 months on new barrels. Very impressive wine. Super rich. Cedar. Roundness. Way too young but with lots and lots of potential. #sardegna

Almost fully saturated ruby. Deep, perfumed aromas of dark plum, steel, flint, charcoal and herbs. Enters bright and fresh, then steely in the middle with a savory edge to the red and blue fruit flavors. Complicated by Mediterranean herbs and a hint of tar on the long, almost austere finish. Very serious Turriga with no easy sweetness or juiciness of fruit. Forget about this in the cellar for another three or four years. (Ian D'Agata, Vinous, March 2018)

Incredibly young still. Asphalty/kirsch aromas. Black fruit palate. Fairly long if still tightly wrapped.

Great wine already but stock it for some years and you will be rewarded.
