Domaine des Chers Vieilles Vignes Julienas Gamay
My last note from 3 months ago is still very apt today.
Cherry, rose, hay, earth, typical cru Beaujolais nose. This is great, deep and complex. The palate is very well made, complex too. A great and long acid backbone, some nice cherry notes shining all around, a good width, some grip on the sides, no real tannins to speak off and a real long finish with fruit. This is very well balanced and a textbook example of the varietal and the region. Gotta love it!

The nose is typical with cherry, Raspberry, hay, Cola, even... This is quite welcoming. The palate shows some matter and a great acid drive. There are cherry notes dancing all along the acid drive, some width and some nice, a tiny bit thicker than usual mouthfeel. Some lively tannins kick in in the rear before a fruity finish with some salty, meaty touches in the end. This is a beautiful Julienas and I'm glad I have another bottle to leave on the side for a while.
