Bright yellow gold. Baked quince, honeysuckle, and ripe red apple on the abundant nose. Full palate of baked quince, balsa wood, and a hint of raw vanilla and white pellet on the finish. Medium plus acidity. I call this the “baby Meursault” as it delivers much of the weight and complexity of its higher end sibling at a more everyday price. Drink now through 2027 with roasted chicken, swordfish, or other hearty white wine fare.

Mar 27th, 2022Bright beige yellow. Inviting nose of overripe red apple and and balsam. Medium full palate yields baked apple, dried white flowers, balsam, and a hint of white pepper back-palate to finish. I’m sensing a bit of oak on this, but in that classic unobtrusive French way. Lively medium plus acidity underneath it all makes for a fantastic white to accompany fish, poultry, shellfish, or medium cheeses. An imminently satisfying Premier Cru white at a great price. “The foot of Montrachet” continues to impress. Drink now through 2024.
