Interesting to read through the comments in this wine, it's not for everyone, but I love it. It reminds me of Big Black, if anyone remembers them from the 80s, the stark tannin structure is like that metallic grating guitar, cleansing, purifying, hard, stripped down. Orange wine is stripped down, it is missing the veneer of fruit and color, that is part of what is so special about it. It is like bauhaus architecture, you see the steel girders and the electrical conduit. This one is particularly that way. With a delicious resolution.

A Sicilian (orange) white that's completely different, and not in the Monty Python sense...as if we needed more evidence of @giustoocchipinti genius, dry, floral, dried apple, stark minerality. You can taste the clay amphorae in which these were made. Best ever match for sashimi.

Lots of tertiary and unripe elements on the nose and sip - but with a surprisingly fresh finish. The grape itself is a bit shadowed by the techniques used.

Lots of depth. Sicilian orange wine that has a beautiful creamy texture. Aromas and flavors of apricot, bees wax, yellow delicious apples, flowers and minerals. A bit of a saline note. Earthy and rustic. As it gets oxygen, mushroom flavors evolve. The next day, anise notes appeared. This wine is a chameleon! Great mouthfeel. Almost “sherry-like.” Aged in clay amphorae. Magnificent! Shared this beauty with Kase.

Sicilian sherry at twice the price. Haha, OK, in all seriousness actually rather interesting, but in a one dimensional way. Like if Wagner never progressed past the Tristan chord. If one follows the Archilochus/Berlin dichotomy, this is a hedgehog wine, it knows one big thing. And what is that thing? A big fat oxidative bone-dry botrysised citrus peel note buttressed by salinity. It's a fascinating note, but it's only one. Nice, but sometimes one wants a symphony, or at least a quartet.

Another amphora treat. Beautiful minerality with apricot, melon contact.

Very nice / interesting orange wine. Has a definite tannic grip - but offset by good white fruit and acid. Surprisingly good pairing with a sausage ragu.

Musky orange wine aged in amphora. Juicy and nutty with nice minerality and a hint of salt. Super interesting and very food friendly.

Not orange at all but rich mineral driven well structured wine. Apperitivo or pasta or seafood. Or on its own.

100% Grecanico, aged in amphora. Yellow-to-orange color. Interesting fruity nose, very light on the palate. Very honourable house, but simply not my kind of stuff for this time.
