May 11th, 2021A cloudy amber color bordering on light gold. Floral aromatics upfront while the fruit remains subdued until it meets air. Funky apricots, drizzled honey, and peaches dominate the nose. Lemon custard and a touch of banana. I have very little experience with orange wines and really did not know what to expect, but I certainly didn’t expect this.
Funk and character abound. It’s a singular wine, quite unique. 100% Grecanico from Sicily. This is such a pure expression of terroir and as we all know, terroir matters. The tannins, yes tannins, attack you in a most pleasing way. The evolution in the glass is remarkable as it opens up. The palate showcases plenty of peaches and loads of lemon. Fresh herbs and spices on the medium to long finish. An outstanding wine, one that I simply must have again.

Feb 2nd, 2021Interesting medium body, minerally white wine from southern Sicily. Picked up an earthy edge. Went well with shrimp scampi and linguini in peppery garlic sauce. Would have scored it higher wasn’t it for the fact that at the end it went a little flat and wasn’t able to hold or attention or interest.
