I’ve been “into” Italian wines for several years now, with nerdy fervor. And it still amazes me that I can run into wines/varietals/DOCs that I’ve never heard of. This is the beauty and allure of this avocation. Restrained red fruit and tannins, in fact everything is in moderation. But the mouthfeel is silky, and the complexity from pepper and herbs is sublime. Overall this is easy drinking but with enough stuffing to handle all but the most serious food pairings.
